ESSU urges for completion of school buildings in Zunheboto

Raising concern over the lackadaisical attitude of the implementing agency of the erstwhile Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and projects implemented by district mission authority (DMA) Zunheboto, the Eastern Sumi Students’ Union (ESSU) said that these projects were “nothing but sabotage to education of our children.”
In a press release ESSU president Hokato V. Yepthomi and press secretary, Hika H. Achumi stated that, during its educational tour from June 24 to June 25, the ESSU found the deplorable and abandoned school buildings namely GMS Ngozubo, GMS Viyilho, GMS Shevishe and GMS Kelto, under SDEO Aghunato and within the ESSU jurisdiction, reportedly sanctioned in 2010-2013.
ESSU expressed surprise as to why the school building projects could not be completed and left abandoned for many years together, when such time bound projects are meant to be completed within stipulated time.
Stating that it will not remain a silent spectator and would take any steps deemed fit to ensure that these projects are completed, the ESSU urged upon the concerned authority to look into this matter with all seriousness and take immediate measures for completion at the earliest.
