DIMAPUR, JUN 4 (NPN) | Publish Date: 6/4/2020 12:52:49 PM IST

State food and civil supplies (F&CS) department has notified that the Ministry of Food & Public Distribution was implementing National Portability under “One Nation One Ration Card” plan with the objective to provide an option to the NFSA beneficiaries to access their food security entitlement from any FPS of their choice anywhere in the State/Country where the mechanism of Supply Chain Management was completed.

In a notification, F&CS director, Asangla Imti, stated that the launching of the scheme was solely for the NFSA beneficiaries including migrant workers to protect and safeguard rights of beneficiaries/ citizens of the Country to get their entitlement of subsidized foodgrain.

For the replenishment of food grains quota issued to the beneficiaries, the F&SC department stated a monthly reconciliation statement would be generated through an IT system based process (developed by NIC HQ) at the Central level on a monthly basis in a transparent manner to be managed by the Central NIC and CPMU team, New Delhi.

As such, the department said implementation of RC portability has been started in Nagaland with effect from June 3, 2020 covering 76 nos. of FPS in Dimapur district as phase-I.

Therefore, all 76 FPS earmarked in the phase-I have been asked to ensure implementation of the programme aimed for the welfare and benefit of the beneficiaries. It stated that no NFSA beneficiaries coming to avail their entitlement of the subsidized food grain should be denied of their rights (entitlement).

The Ration Card portability would remain active in all the 76 earmarked FPSs in Dimapur (Phase-I) for the NFSA beneficiaries.

All earmarked FPSs/ Urban VC have, therefore, been directed to abide by the directive of the Ministry failing which necessary action would be initiated against the erring FPS(s) without further notice.
