Fabindia store, the country’s largest private platform for products that are made from traditional techniques, skills and hand-based processes by craftsmen, was inaugurated by Dr K Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dimapur at Chishi Marketing Complex, Circular Road, Dimapur on Friday.

The store deals in garments, jewellery, organic foods and personal care products.

Sujata Absar, Market Regional Head of Fabindia of eastern region said the store in Dimapur was the 10th store in northeast. “We believe in giving employment to craftsmen where they can do their work in their own environment; we don’t want to lose this,” affirmed Absar.

Co-proprietor of the store, Jevitoli Kinimi said that there are three categories for Fabindia’s food products - green logo, blue logo and yellow logo. The products with a green logo are fully certified organic while the blue logo products are in ‘conversion’ which means that the farmer use purely organic techniques and has registered to comply with set standards. The yellow logos are products acquired from small farmers who use organic technique but are not registered to comply with set standards.
