Family planning camps being conducted in Jalukie and Peren

In observance of World Population Day & Population stabilization fortnight, Free Family Planning Camps are being held at CHC Jalukie and District Hospital Peren, providing free sterilization along with incentives and transportation costs provided to beneficiaries. 
Peren CMO Office, district media officer Pezanguno Celine Secii, in a press release, stated that the other 24 Health Units were giving free family services such as IUCD, condoms, OCP and ECP. All of these started on July 11 and will culminate on the 24th.
The work force, under the umbrella of the Chief Medical Office Peren, is focusing on information, education and communication strategies. Mobilization and intensive awareness are being initiated since June 24 focusing on the grassroot level with the ASHA’s engaging in interpersonal communication with all the villages with the ASHA coordinators. The health workers are conducting counselling in their respective Health Units and also distributing IEC materials in local dialects apart from family planning services.  Focus group discussion are also being conducted by the ASHA coordinators in all the 4 blocks. Miking has also been carried out in Peren town and Jalukie town to gather information. The release reported that so far, 21 laparoscopic & 3 IUCD have been done and 298 condoms, 72 OCP’s and 14 ECP’s has been distributed. The Sterilization camp for District Hospital Peren is fixed to be conducted on July 17.
