Felicitation programmes for HSLC/HSSLC students

Maintaining proper protocol of social distancing, the Tetso College Dimapur, Don Bosco Alumni Wokha and Zunheboto Range Students Union felicitated successful students of HSLC/HSSLC examinations.   

Tetso College Dimapur: Tetso College celebrated its first virtual HSSLC graduation ceremony on June 13. According to a press release, in the director’s address, Kvulo Lorin congratulated HSSLC class of 2020 for their success and highlighted on how the staff and students were able to respond to the change brought by the pandemic. Some of the salient developments included publications, collaborations and collaborative research, webinars with distinguished visitors, student activities.

Encouraging the graduating students to remain positive in a time of pandemic, the director reminded that new opportunities would come knocking as they enter new chapters in their lives. 

Special guest and commencement speaker, Chumben Ngullie, deputy commandant Central Industrial Security Force stressed on the future careers of students and asserted that their goals should be carried out with focus and discipline to achieve wholesome development.

Presenting a brief history about his own aspirations, he stated that passion, commitment and hard work were key factors for anyone to be successful. He maintained that students must accept challenges with undaunted spirits and wished them a bright future.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, valedictorian Iziedile Ngia thanked stakeholders involved in shaping their lives, especially teachers for encouraging them never to give up. Iziedile was optimistic that “the graduating class will continue to believe in the virtue of unity because where there is unity, there is victory”.

Meanwhile, in the closing remarks, Kahor Raleng, assistant dean, Tetso College emphasised on the importance of implementing knowledge, skills, and values they had acquired and to practice them in life. She also advised them to equip themselves with new skills and knowledge to face challenges and excel in their career. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Mulatoli Awomi, assistant professor, Tetso College, invocation by Shasinle Lorin, special song by Mhashelenu Hibo, class 12, while a video capturing moments of the graduating class and their achievements was streamed. Around 70 students, staff, family and well wishers attended the ceremony of 50 HSSLC graduates from arts and commerce stream. 

DBA: Don Bosco Alumni (DBA), Wokha unit organised 4th meritorious award function on June 10 at DB youth centre maintaining social distancing. 

A press release from DBA Wokha stated that, the award sponsored by alumnus Zarenthung Ezung, additional secretary of Horticulture was bagged by Mhankabemo Z. Ovung, NBSE 2020 HSLC, 7th rank and Vanthungo Jungio, highest mark score of the school in HSSLC 2020. The association also honoured cash award to Khephothung Jami, HSLC 17th rank. The programme was chaired by DB alumni vice president, Gex Wobenthung J. Patton. 

ZRSU: Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) organised a felicitation programme in honour of Manakali A. Yeptho who secured 8th position in HSSLC (Arts) Exam, 2020 at All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) conference hall, Zunheboto.  

A press release from ZRSU president Nito V. Zhimomi stated that, vice president of Sumi Hoho Vihoshe Muru, graced the occasion as special guest. The HSSLC topper was awarded citation for academic excellence along with cash prize sponsored by advisor of School Education, K.T. Sukhalu.
