FGN expresses condolence

Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) C-in-C Naga Army ‘Gen.’ Tavecho Lala on behalf of the Naga Army FGN has extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and relatives of NA. No. 0372 ‘Col.’ Withonang, chaplain Naga Army who passed away on February 8 at H.K. Hospital, Chumukedima, Dimapur. 

In a condolence note, C-in-C Naga Army ‘Gen.’ Tavecho stated that, Withonang S/o. Tajinang, Mhaikam village joined Naga Army on January 18, 1960 under 3rd Bn. 1st B’de W/C Naga Army and faithfully served the nation till his last breath as one of the senior most chaplains in national defense service. 
FGN also stated that, he always led the campers in prayer twice daily and used to prophesy time to time and although he was an illiterate, his memory of Bible verses was extraordinary. 
Stating that he was spiritually a strong believer of Christ, a true patriot and a recipient of several awards, the FGN said that his untimely demise was a great loss, whereby a vacuum has been created to the nation and community. FGN further prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
