Fill up CMO Kohima vacant post: KVC

Kohima Village Council (KVC) has urged the state government to immediately fill up the post of chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima that was still lying vacant.

In a letter addressed to DC Kohima, the KVC chairman Dr. Neiphi Kire and secretary Zeneizo Rutsa stated that the consequences of the absence of a CMO in the event of a pandemic of this magnitude could be disastrous.

KVC also urged the government to ensure that in the face of such a deathly virus, the security and safety of the frontline workers be accorded “top priority”. The council assured to extend support and cooperation to the administration in whatever way possible.

Meanwhile, KVC has lauded the district administration, the department of health and family welfare, the doctors and nurses for their untiring effort as they prepare to fight the menace of Covid-19 pandemic.
