Fire in Dimapur: Following receipt of information on April 4, 2020 at around 3am about the fire incident at Purana Bazaar, near Honda Showroom, the F&ES department mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Dimapur Central.

The timely response from fire team averted any eventuality and brought the fire under control and also from spreading further.

One furniture house was completely gutted by fire. There were no occupants at the house.  The cause of the fire incident was suspected to be short circuit.

Fire in Wokha: On receiving a call at 8:24pm on April 3, 2020, about fire at Lanzunphen, Merapani Road, Wokha, a quick response team from Fire Station Wokha was mobilised to control the fire. However, the department said that due to difficult terrain and impending darkness, the fire was brought under control only on April 4, 2020. It stated that a few kilometres stretch of forest land, orchard, and plantation of cash crops were destroyed in the incident. The cause of the fire was suspected to be a continuation of the garbage fire.  There were, however, no reports of any casualties.
