First International Kids Film Festival held in Wokha

 DICE Foundation and Team Metamorphosis in association with Beti Bachao Beti Padhao under Wokha district administration hosted the first-ever International Kids Film Festival (IKFF) at Town Hall, Wokha on November 30 in collaboration with LXL, an education consultant based in Bangalore.

Declaring the film festival opened, special guest, ADC Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao congratulated the organizers for bringing the first of its kind in the district and said that education system need to be transformed where it will automatically transform the society.

Stating that ‘Education is not confined to four walls of school classroom’ he informed the students that learning is continuous processes that end up in a grave. He challenged the student to get visual knowledge which is healthy and that are related to education, social life, family and friends.

Zubeni Ngullie shared the ideas of LXL and IKFF that has enormous educational potential with an objective to create a learning experience for students, parents and educators by taking education beyond the conventional school setting; with an aim to expose students to different cultures, emotions, ideas and entertain as well as inspire them through cinema. 

Lower section students from Wokha district watched innovative animated movies in the morning hour while the upper section students watched short videos in the afternoon.

Zanabeni Kikon from DICE foundation delivered a welcome note, while team from Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and One Stop- Sakhi Wokha delivered on girls’ child education as well as empowerment and social discrimination of women. The programme was invoked by Christian Education and Communication secretary, LBCA, C Motsuthung Tsopoe while vote of thanks was proposed by Thungdemo Kyong from Team Metamorphosis.
