Fish ban to stay in Wokha: CMO Wka

Chief medical officer (CMO) cum designated officer of food safety cell, Wokha has informed that the standing prohibition order of storage, distribution and sale of fresh fish products, imported or local, including crustaceans, treated with formalin or any other form of preservative would remain until corrective measures were taken. In a press note, CMO Wokha, Dr. Robin Lotha, also informed that no person would sell powdered spices and condiments except under packed conditions. 
Lotha stated that no food business operator would manufacture, store, sell/distribute any misbranded food articles. Further, CMO also banned sale of packaged drinking water except under the Bureau of Indian Standards Certification Mark and the display of FSSAI license number on the label. CMO cautioned that necessary action as per Food Safety & Standards Act, 2016, Rules & Regulations would be initiated against the defaulters.
