Large portion of agricultural land in Bokajan subdivision and adjacent areas have been affected by recent flood; standing crops have been destroyed after the heavy rain on the night of August 4 which had inundated the area.

Seasonal paddy cultivation has been hit hard due to the flood, maximum farmers fear diminishing return from the recent yield.

Marginal farmers feel that if immediate assistance doesn’t come from the authority food shortage may increase in the area.

The farmers have appealed the authority of Agriculture and Irrigation department to investigate for more competent ways to save the area from perennial flood and make their farmland capable for round the year cultivation.
