Public movement is still noticeable in Kohima town even after the window period for shopping, which is between 8 a.m to 12 noon is over.  Angami Students Union (ASU),  Angami Youth Organisation(AYO) and Kohima Village Youth Organisation  (KVYO) had been extending voluntary help to the police personnel at Razou Point on Monday.

Speaking to our correspondent, one of the volunteer stated that it was very difficult to function in this situation as the public were not cooperative, adding that many public were full of excuses. The volunteer recounted how during the window period, public would say they are out for shopping and needed their vehicle to carry the essentials. When the window period was over, they would give excuse of going to the hospital, added the volunteer.

Expressing on how hard it was to do their job, the volunteer wished that people would understand that restricted movement was for the welfare of the public. He hoped that the new regulation given by Kohima DC on Monday will help the public to follow the rules more strictly.

Meanwhile an administrator who was recently posted in Mokokchung from Kohima had praised the people there for their cooperation especially with ward task force enforcing lockdown in their respective areas. He also stated that traffic was almost zero except those with permits. Though the people were still catching up with social distancing, he said that the people were quite cooperative there, compared to few other districts.
