Forum for Peace formed at Jalukie

People’s Forum for Peace comprising of members committed to work for peace, justice and sustainable development in Jalukie valley, Peren district was formed on August 29 at Town Baptist Church, Jalukie.  A press release by Peace Channel stated that resource person, Vitono Haralu from Peace Channel, spoke on the objectives of the forum and how it can came into existence. 

Haralu said forum could only be formed if there was an equal representation from all sections of the society as it seeks equal opportunity for all to be heard and share opinions and experiences. 
She said the forum explored strategies of building peace and bringing development by working together on socio economic, building multi-cultural, tribal and religious contexts. Haralu also said that an inclusive platform for face to face dialogue among organisations involving people from all walks of life was critical to dialogue between parties in conflicting situation and issues.  Earlier, the programme was led by Jalukie Town Baptist Church, youth Pastor Albert N Hau.
