Foundation for MRHRU laid at Niuland

Principal secretary, Health and Family Welfare, I. Himato Zhimomi on June 8 laid the foundation for Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRU) at Niuland CHC. 

A press release by CMO, Dimapur, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi stated that, Himato in his speech informed that in the entire state, only one MRHRU has been set up in Niuland, which was indeed fortunate. He said that new building will be constructed for this purpose and manpower will be posted to make the MRHRU a functional unit.
The inaugural function began with the unveiling of the MRHRU plaque by Himato. I Zhimomi, and a prayer by pastor Tokivi Yeptho. The programme was chaired by Dr. Obed, MO, Niuland CHC and attended by Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, CMO, Dr. Antoly, deputy CMO, Athrila S. ADC, Niuland, Wacy Kent, SDO Niuland, Dr. Nyan, SNO, IDSP, Dr. Kavito, DTO Dimapur, staff under CMO Dimapur and staff under CHC Niuland.
MRHRU is an initiative by the Indian Council of Medical Research under government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to create infrastructure at the periphery for transfer of technology to the rural level.
Niuland PHC upgraded to CHC 
Principal secretary, Health & Family Welfare, I. Himato Zhimomi graced the inaugural programme of the newly upgraded Primary Health Centre (PHC) Niuland to Community Health Centre (CHC) on June 8. 
After unveiling the plaque, Himato reminded the public on the health insurance provided by the central government in all the government health units. He further stated that the new health unit upgraded to CHC Niuland will have more doctors, nurses, staff and equipments. He also thanked the medical officers, staff and administrative department for bringing health care services to the public.  
Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, CMO expressed gratitude to minister of Health and Family Welfare, Pangnyuh Phom, principal secretary Himato Zhimomi and principal director Vikeyi Losu for upgrading the PHC to CHC. 
ADC Niuland, Athrila S. said that the upgradation will serve the medical need of the public under Niuland and urged the public to have the sense of ownership and nurture the CHC Niuland. She further said that the welfare of the medical staff posted under CHC Niuland should be looked after by the public. 
Earlier, the programme chaired by Dr. Obed, MO i/c Niuland CHC began with an invocation by Tokhivi Yeptho. Welcome speech was delivered by Bohoto Aye, vice chairman, Adhoc Town Committee Niuland and vote of thanks by Viqhei Zhimmomi, president GB Association Niuland Area.
