A foundation stone for the new building for Shree Digamber Jain Higher Secondary School (SDJHSS) was inaugurated by deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel on August 27 in the presence of various community leaders.

A press release from SDJHSS secretary, Ajay Sethi stated that, Patel in his speech assured the Jain community of his full cooperation. He said that this would lead to the building of careers of thousands of students from all the communities & various sections of Nagaland.

The Foundation stone was laid by the senior most citizen of the Jain community in Nagaland, Chiranjilal Patni. 

President Sethi expressed his heart-felt gratitude to special invitee Patel and also said that the school would be a one of its kind with all possible amenities & streams of studies available for every section of society. He expressed his gratitude to the whole Jain community whose contributions had made the project possible. 

Sethi also expressed his gratitude to all the people who assisted in any way in making the foundation laying ceremony a grand success. 

Earlier, a procession was taken out from Jain Temple to Mahavir Sthal, which was led by the Jain School Band. Reji Abraham, principal, SDJHSS also attended the program along with teaching and non-teaching staff. Other prominent members present were Om Prakash Sethi & Prakash Chand Ajmera, president & general secretary respectively of Shree Digamber Jain Samaj, Dimapur.
