Four pairs of AC special trains to start in NFR from next week
NFR will operate four pairs of special trains soon.

 Maligaon, Oct 9:  Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to operate four pairs of special trains for the benefit of the people of Northeast region from next week. One bi-weekly AC special train will start running between Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh via Bogibeel w.e.f. October 12 , 2020; another weekly AC special train will start running between Dibrugarh – New Delhi - Dibrugarh from  October  15

One weekly AC special train will start running between Kamakhya – Yesvantpur - Kamakhya from  October 14   and another weekly AC special train will start running between Kamakhya – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus - Kamakhya from October 15. Passengers from a vast part of Assam and Northeast can now avail the facility of train travel to various parts of the country with the introduction of these special trains. 

A press release by Chief Public Relations Officer SubhananChanda stated train number 02505 Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh bi-weekly AC special via Bogibeel will leave from Dibrugarh at 10 pm every Monday & Friday w.e.f. October 12  via North Lakhimpur, Harmuti, Rangapara North, New Misamari, Udalguri, Tangla, Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj and Katihar to reach New Delhi at 1:55 pm on Wednesdays & Sundays. During return journey, train no 02506 will leave from New Delhi every Thursday and  Sunday w.e.f. October 15 at 09:25 am to arrive Dibrugarh at 3 am on Saturdays and Tuesdays. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available. 

02503 Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh weekly AC special will leave from Dibrugarh at 7:50 pm every Thursday w.e.f. October 15 via Moranhat, Simaluguri, Mariani, Dimapur, Diphu, Lumding, Hojai, Guwahati, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj and Katihar to reach New Delhi at 13-55 hrs on Saturday. During return journey train no 02504 will leave from New Delhi every Tuesday at 9:25 am  w.e.f. October 20  to arrive Dibrugarh at 05:15 am  on Thursdays. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available. 

02552 Kamakhya – Yesvantpur – Kamakhya weekly AC special will leave from Kamakhya every Wednesday at 2 pm  w.e.f. October 14 to reach Yesvantpur at 6:25 pm on Fridays. During return journey, train no 02551 will leave Yesvantpur at 8:30 am every Saturday w.e.f. October 17 to reach Kamakhya at 2 pm on Monday. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available.

02520 Kamakhya – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Kamakhya weekly AC special will leave from Kamakhya every Thursday at 21-00 hrs w.e.f. October 15 to reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 6:30 pm on Saturday. During return journey, train no 02519 will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 7:50 am every w.e.f Sunday  October 15 to reach Kamakhya at 4:25 am  on Tuesday. This train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, accommodations available.

There will be no unreserved coaches in any train. Passengers must download Aarogya Setu App, and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains. Wearing of face covers at the entry and during travel is a must. Only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the Railway station/board the train. It may be mentioned here that all regular passenger train services on Indian Railways including premium trains, mail/express trains, passenger trains services, narrow gauge train services were suspended in the wake of COVID-19 since the last week of March. 

In NFR area presently 14 pairs of special trains are presently in operation. These are: 

1. 02423 / 02424 Dibrugarh – New Delhi - Dibrugarh AC spl

2. 02501 / 02502 Agartala – New Delhi - Agartala AC spl

3. 02377 / 02378 Sealdah – Alipurduar – Sealdah spl express

4. 02407 / 02408 Amritsar – New Jalpaiguri - Amritsar spl express

5. 05484 / 05483 Delhi – Alipurduar - Delhi spl express

6. 05955 / 05966 Delhi – Dibrugarh - Delhi spl mail

7. 05645 / 05646 Guwahati – LTT - Guwahati spl express

8. 02509 / 02510 Guwahati - Bangaluru Cantt – Guwahati spl express

9. 05933 / 05934 Dibrugarh – Amritsar – Dibrugarh spl express

10. 05909 / 05910 Dibrugarh – Lalgarh – Dibrugarh spl express

11. 05625 / 05626 Agartala – Deoghar – Agartala spl express

12. 05613 / 05614 Kamakhya – Murkongselek spl express

13. 02345 / 02346 Howrah – Guwahati – Howrah spl express

14. 02507 / 02508 Silchar – Trivandrum - Silchar spl express
