Free health camp conducted at Pongo village

A free health camp was organized and sponsored by Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd at Mt. Hermon School premises Pongo village on April 26 along with a Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) drive by the State Health Agency (AB-PMJAY) Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima. 

A press release from medical superintendent in-charge CMO Longleng, Dr. Toshirenla stated that in a short program organized outside the school premises, State Programme Officer (AB-PMJAY) Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Kohima, Dr. Kika Longkumer highlighted the importance of the BIS drive and its requirements and features. The BIS drive also offered a hands-on training for officials of the Phom Baptist Christian Association.  

At the free health camp, NCD screening was provided, free medicines and counselling were offered as well.

Team leader of the Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company’s Dr. Amalendu Ghosh was assisted by the MMU and RBSK team from CMO office Longleng. Altogether 426 patients registered to avail the free medical services. 

Besides technical staff, the chairman and members of the village council, Church leaders, officials of Pongo Students’ Union, and staff from Pongo sub-centre also attended the health camp.
