District administration and DLCW –MSK under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) in collaboration with the department of Health and Family Welfare, Sakhi- One Stop Centre organised a one day awareness programme on PCPNDT Act (pre conception and pre Natal Diagnostic Technique Act) and Pradhan Mantru Vandana Yojana- Maternity Benefit Scheme (PMMVY) and free medical camp on February 28 at Longsachung village Community Hall.

According to DIPR report, during the programme, case worker-Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon highlighted on PCPNDT Act & OSC, while Emilo, assistant district co-ordinator PMMVY enlightened about the benefits of Pradhan Mantru Vandana Yojana- Maternity Benefit Scheme. Medical officer, Primary Health Centre, Nyiro, Dr.Thungjamo Jungio sensitized the villagers about the COVID vaccination and encouraged all to avail the vaccine for healthy life.

Longsachung Village Council chairman, Yakhasao Ezung thanked the team for visiting and educating the villagers about the benefits of various schemes and policies for the wellbeing of the village community. Later, a free medical camp was also conducted for the villagers where 672 patients were treated and free medicines were distributed to the patients.
