FSAC-cum-licensing of FBOs held

Food safety wing under Health and Family Welfare Department, comprising of enforcement wing led by designated food safety officer, Kohima, Peterson Pongen, and analytical wing, led by asstt chemist, Kohima, Kovil Angami, conducted Food Safety Awareness Campaign (FSAC)-cum-licensing and registration of food business operators (FBOs) in Kiphire town on October 9 and 10 with team members. 

A press release from district media officer (NHM), CMO office, Kiphire, Atsali T, stated that the analytical wing demonstrated sample test to ASHAs and school children, for detection of daily used food items which can be tested in their own kitchen.

District programme officer (RCH & UIP), Dr. K. Pewezo Khalo encouraged school children to apply food safety practices at homes and spread importance of it to the community. 

He also appealed to community to remain alert on adulterated food items and to report to authority if any such were detected for appropriate action.

Food safety awareness campaign and demonstration on food item was also conducted with frontline health workers of Kiphire district on the same day.
