Fuel prices continue to soar

State-owned oil marketing companies raised prices of petrol and diesel across major cities of the country for the third successive day on Saturday.

Petrol price was increased by 5 paise per litre while diesel price was hiked by 11-12 paise despite the decline of crude oil prices for the fourth consecutive day on Friday after US-Iran tensions subsided.
After today’s rate revision, petrol prices in Delhi climbed to Rs 76.01 (5 paise increase) a litre while diesel price peaked to Rs 69.17 per litre.
In Dimapur, petrol was retailing at Rs 73.82 per litre, 5 paise increase from yesterday’s rate of Rs 73.77 per litre while diesel price climbed to Rs. 66.81 per litre, 11 paise more than yesterday’s price of Rs 66.69 per litre.
In the state capital Kohima, petrol price rose by 5 paise to Rs 74.63 a litre while diesel was selling at Rs 67.44 per litre as against Rs 67.33per litre yesterday.
Petrol and diesel prices are reviewed by oil marketing companies on a daily basis, and any revision in the fuel rates is implemented at fuel stations with effect from 6 am.
