Fuel prices cut once again ahead of Diwali

Petrol price dropped to a two-month low on Tuesday while diesel touched its lowest level in the last six weeks in Delhi after retail fuel prices were cut on Tuesday. 

Petrol, diesel prices were slashed for the fifth straight day on Tuesday in which petrol became cheaper by 14-16 paise per litre in all the metro cities of the country while diesel rates dropped by 8-10 paise per litre. In the national capital Delhi, petrol was sold at Rs 78.42 on Tuesday as against Rs 78.56 on Monday and diesel was retailing at Rs 73.07 compared to Rs 73.16, according to data available on Indian Oil website.

Meanwhile, in Dimapur petrol price was Rs.74.26 per litre and diesel price was Rs. 68.63 while in Kohima petrol price stood at Rs.74.97 per litre and diesel was sold at Rs.69.18 per litre on Tuesday.

The recent drop in retail fuel prices have been on account of a drop in international crude oil price and rupee’s appreciation against the dollar.
