After a hiatus of one day, petrol and diesel prices witnessed a hike on Saturday in major cities across the country. Petrol price in the national capital went up six paise from Rs 73.07 on Friday to Rs 73.13 on Saturday. Diesel price in Delhi went from Rs 66.66 per litre to Rs 66.71 per litre after today’s price revision.

In Dimapur, petrol price went up six paise to Rs 70.74 from Rs. 70.68 while diesel price also went up six paise to Rs. 64.13 on Saturday.

In the state capital Kohima, petrol price increased from Rs. 71.48 per litre on Friday to Rs. 71.55 on Saturday. Diesel also was hiked from Rs. 64.68 per litre to Rs. 64.74 on Saturday.

It may be mentioned that due to the daily dynamic pricing regime, retail fuel prices depend on global crude prices on a 15-day average, and the rupee-US dollar exchange rate as India imports 80 per cent of its crude requirements.

State-run oil marketing companies Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel prices with effect from 6 am on a daily basis.
