Fuel prices hiked

Petrol prices were increased by 5-7 paise across major cities of the country on Thursday while diesel prices, on the other hand, were increased raised by 5-6 paise. 

After today’s rate revision, in Delhi petrol prices climbed to Rs 71.82 a litre as against Rs 71.76 on Wednesday while diesel price rose to Rs 65.19 per litre as compared to Rs 65.14 on Wednesday, as per data from Indian Oil Corporation website. In Dimapur, the retail price of petrol price was increased to Rs.69.93 a litre on Thursday while diesel costs Rs 63.14 a litre. In the state capital Kohima, petrol was retailing at Rs. 70.70 a litre while diesel price went up to Rs 63.72 a litre. As per the country’s daily pricing mechanism, the pump price of petrol and diesel is dependent on the global crude prices and the rupee-US dollar exchange rate as India imports 80 per cent of its crude requirements.
