Fuel prices rise after 1-day hiatus

State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased prices of petrol and diesel across all the metros after a day’s hiatus on Thursday. Petrol price was hiked by 11 paise per litre while diesel price was increased by a higher margin of 21 paise.

After today’s rate revision, petrol price in Delhi stood at Rs.81.70 per litre and diesel prices were hiked to Rs.71.62 per litre. According to IOCL website, petrol price in Dimapur was Rs.84.46 per litre and diesel price was Rs.75.15 per litre on Thursday. In the state capital Kohima, a litre of petrol and diesel was retailing at Rs.85.31 per litre and Rs.75.86 per litre respectively. OMCs began increasing pump prices of the two petroleum products from November 20 after a nearly two-month-long hiatus in fuel price revision.
