Fule prices hiked again

NEW DELHI, JAN 19 (AGENCIES) | Publish Date: 1/19/2019 11:29:57 AM IST

Petrol and diesel prices were revised upwards by major oil PSUs on Saturday (January 19) in the wake of a falling rupee and increasing global crude oil prices.

While petrol prices have gone up by 19-20 paise, diesel rates have been hiked 20 paise, according to data from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

In Delhi, a litre of petrol now costs Rs 70.72 and Diesel prices have shot up to Rs 65.16 per litre.

The fresh rise in petrol and diesel prices since January 7 is a result of strengthening global crude oil prices and a fall in the value of rupee against the dollar.

Since the beginning of 2019, petrol prices across the country have gone up by almost Rs 1.82 per litre while diesel prices have been hiked by over Rs 2 per litre.
