Furniture maker  sells big in Kisama

Self taught Vingoza Yosa (29) from Jakhama village, sold 22 pieces of furniture, including dining table, shelf, flower stands etc., to chief minister Neiphiu Rio for about Rs 3 lakh on December 4.

This is the first time Yosa Furniture Unit Kohima has set up a stall in Kisama.

Yosa said that out of 80 sets of alder wood dining tables whose prices range from Rs 5000 to Rs 30000, he has sold around 50 of them in Kisama. His stall so far has fetched him around Rs. 4.5 lakh in sales.

The carpenter said that one piece of the furniture takes a minimum of two days to complete. He added that the tree that gives the wood for furniture should be seasoned trees being older than 100 years.

The self taught artist has been making furniture for eight years now.
