Government Hindi Institute (GHI), Dimapur celebrated 51st Hindi Divas on September 20, with directorate of School Education deputy director Zakienei Khoube as guest speaker. 

A press release from GHI Dimapur principal, Dr. B. P. Philip stated that, Zakienei Khoube, handed over the best performance award of the academic session 2018-19 to 2 (two) GHI students (male & female) which included commendation certificate, books and cash prizes under the “Governor’s grants fund award” that will continue every year. 

While addressing, he maintained that right from the inception of the lone Hindi Institute in 1968 many qualified Hindi teachers have been produced and he was the living example to hold the present post, for which he also acknowledged the state as well as central government and Central Institute of Hindi, Agra. He also highlighted the role of Hindi Teachers Union to popularise Hindi in the state, and exhorted the trainees to study Hindi not for only govt. job but to fit in any field by learning the language and being a part of nation building.    

Earlier, invocation was pronounced by Rev. Robert Singh. During the Hindi Pakhwada (fortnight) from September 14 to 21, competition programmes were organized on various topics. 

Programme was conducted by Rongsenkala (HT), and while giving welcome speech, Dr. BP Philip, principal GHI highlighted the role of GHI which has produced qualified Hindi teachers in the state. 

Y.P. Sing (HT) gave a brief history on how Hindi is constitutionally official language in-spite of having so many rich languages in India. 

During the celebration 15 trainees who got 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions in the competition were given commendation certificates along with cash prizes.

Hindi Divas celebration was organised in-coordination with “Samagra Shiksha” as per the directive of principal director, DoSE Shanavas C.
