GHSS Jotsoma, Mt Sinai HSS, Rüzhükhrie GHSS win

Government Higher Secondary School Jotsoma, Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School and Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School won their respective matches at the ongoing 3rd Kohima District Inter-School Football Tournament played at IG Stadium, Kohima on Tuesday. 

Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma beat Dr. Neilhouzhü Government Higher Secondary School 2-1 to reach last 16. 

The first half saw a goalless draw with both teams failing to score. Kedovozo broke the deadlock in 50th minute, while Kikruvisa doubled the scored for GHSS Jotsoma in the 60th minute.  

Menuolekho scored a consolation goal in extra time for Dr. Neilhouzhü GHSS.  In the next round, GHSS Jotsoma will take on Mount Carmel HSS on July 6.  

Last year’s finalist Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School overcame TM Government Higher Secondary School 3-1. 

Mount Sinai HSS opened the scoring through Atsiatho Nyuthe in 20th minute. TM Govt HSS got back the equaliser through Kethovizo in 26th minute to end the first half 1-1. 

Mount Sinai struck twice in the last 10 minutes of the second half through Kuvezo Huzhu (54th) and Shovelo Doulo (56th) to reach the last 16.

Mount Sinai HSS will clash against Minister’s Hill HSS on July 6. 

In the last match of the day, Küvethi Swüro scored four as 1st edition champions Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School registered a thumping 8-0 victory over Modern Academy School.

Mhaphruovituo scored a brace while Daveilu Poumai and Vikhu scored a goal each for the GHSS team. They will now play against Stella HSS on July 5.
