GMS Chandmari gets new building

Deputy Commissioner and chairman District Mission Authority (DMA) Samagra Shiksha, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie on Tuesday inaugurated the new school building of Lower Chandmari Kohima Government Middle School (GMS).

In his address, Thejawelie congratulated the colony panchayat, school management committee (SMC), colony residents and all concerned citizens for the successful completion of the new school building. He urged the teachers to be more responsible and discharge their duty with sincerity and dedication to upgrade the students’ skills, knowledge and talents.  

He encouraged the gathering to utilize the facilities provided by the government and produce the desire result. On the request for up-gradation to high school, DC said it would work out on need basis and fulfilment of the require criteria. 

Further, he encouraged the teachers to inculcate to the students the sense and need of sanitation, cleanliness and the government order on plastic ban and other civic sense.

Assistant district coordinator, Samagra DMA Kohima M. Thongsenlo expressed gratitude to the land donor H.K. Rengma. He urged the community and teachers to preserve the school property and utilize for the right purpose. 

Chairman Pachayat lower Chandmari, Nohokhul Sophie also addressed the gathering.

Secretary SMC, John Kath in his brief report of the school building informed that the total cost of new school building was Rs. 30, 56,000. 

Hoshito Assumi G.B. (SMC) also addressed the gathering. The programme chaired by chairman SMC Thungbemo Mozhui began with an invocation by Ayangla Kichu. Welcome address delivered by head teacher, Y. Nchumbemo Odyuo, special song was presented by GMS students while vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Achila Lanu, member SMC.
