Goalkeeper James Kithan in talks to join NorthEast United

Rumours in social media have been doing the round since July 17 evening that James Kithan has joined North East United FC. 

When contacted, Kithan said that the transfer deal was only a rumour. However, he admitted that there have been talks between the club and the agent but the deal was yet to be finalised. 

While the player himself expressed his excitement if the deal could materialize in the coming days with the club, Kithan said ‘it’s a dream for every footballer to play in big clubs’.

According to reports, Guwahati-based Indian Super League (ISL) franchise NorthEast United FC are currently in talk with James Kithan and Ubaid CK, goalkeeper for Gokulam Kerala FC. 

Northeast United FC are yet to find a new head coach after sacking their Croatian head coach Robert Jarni in February. Assistant coach Khalid Jamil is currently the interim charge of the club. 

The 25 year old James Kithan is the goalkeeper for I-League club Churchill Brothers Sporting Club based in Goa. Born and brought up in Dimapur, Kithan has played for Kohima Komets, Peerless Sports Club, Kolkata, Mohammedan Sporting Club, VIVA Chennai FC etc. 

According to Transfer Market, his contract expires on May 31, 2020 with Churchill Brothers SC. He made eight appearances in the I-League in the 2019-20.
