Gov desires govt book case against 3 DoSE officials

In the light of show cause notices served by the Directorate of School Education (DoSE) on three officials on various corrupt practices, Nagaland Governor R.N. Ravi, after taking serious note of the offences, sent a missive to the state chief secretary, Temjen Toy urging the state government to consider filing criminal cases against the three and to investigate the matter.

In the letter dated February 17, to the chief secretary, issued through T. Mhabemo Yanthan commissioner & secretary to the Governor, a copy of which was made available to media, mentioned that the three officials under the department- joint director (directorate),  junior education officer (directorate) and junior education officer (DEO Wokha)- were issued show case for offence of misappropriation of public money, fabrication of documents, cheating and criminal breach of trust, inflicting financial loss to the state exchequer.
In the light of the above, the letter stated that the Governor of Nagaland deemed these as offences being “criminal and serious” and therefore desired that the government consider registering a criminal case and investigate it. 
Further, the Governor also mentioned that the Supreme Court had held that criminal and departmental proceedings could run simultaneously.
