Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya along with his wife Kavita Acharya inaugurated Sibrai (Shiva) temple Monday at Dhansiripar village.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor as chief guest asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted the North Eastern states to be equally strong like the other states, therefore unless every part of the country is strong and the fruits of independence reach every part of the society, India cannot be called a strong country.

While religion was personal in a democratic country of India, Governor asserted that it is education that was of utmost importance for any country to march ahead.

He also encouraged the gathering by saying that Christians were a minority in India, and the Christian state Nagaland with only 20 lakh population still managed to construct the universities.

Governor also spoke about the state being full of resources along with other North Eastern states, which can leave all other states behind if the resources were properly utilized.

At the same time, Acharya lamented that due to a faulty system many people were still ignorant about this part of the country. Governor further mentioned about giving importance to one’s own mother tongue which defined one’s identity.

Briefing about the history of the temple, Sibrai (Shiva) temple construction committee, Dhansiripar president Kishore Jeedung mentioned that late Govind Bhai Dholakia was the person behind, who came up with the thought of construction of the Sibrai temple in the year 2010.

The construction started on November 7, 2011 led by Kishore as president of the construction committee and late Kamleshwar Haflongbar as secretary of finance committee. Jeedung also mentioned that it took a lot of patience and hard work.

He further thanked Bhartiya constructions, Tribini constructions, all individuals and groups who had extended their co-operations towards the completion of the temple.
