Governor visits Shitovi village Dragon Fruit Farm

Governor of Nagaland, P.B. Acharya visited agricultural entrepreneur Lucy Ngullie Thomas’ Dream Dragon Fruit Farm at Shitovi village on September 7. 

According to a DIPR report, the Governor was impressed with the meticulously maintained farm. Acharya advised Lucy to send pictures of her farm along with a write up about the medicinal benefits of dragon fruit to the Prime Minister of India and also a copy to Raj Bhavan Kohima. 

Acharya spent more than an hour in the farm admiring the exotic tropical fruits ranging from ornamental pineapples, gac fruits, exotic guavas, rambutans,  avocados, figs, longans, mangosteens, durian and soursop besides the four varieties of white, red, yellow and orange fleshed dragon fruit.

The governor congratulated Lucy Ngullie Thomas and advised the GB of Shitovi village, who was also present, to motivate each and every household to put up at least 10 pillars per household under the advice of Lucy, on the process of cultivating dragon fruit. 

Acharya said that he learnt additional information about the fruit from the internet and  was amazed to learn about its multiple health benefits. 

The Governor was accompanied by DHO, Temsu, DPRO, Lolano Patton, EAC, Wiridin and police officials besides his ADC and OSD.
