Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), six tribal bodies and frontal organisations have announced that they would wait for five days for the State government to deliberate and act on the Judicial Inquiry Committee (JIC) report.

This was decided at a joint consultative meeting on Tuesday to deliberate on ENPO’s May 28 representation to the state government seeking disciplinary action against officials involved in deliberate violation of standard operating procedure and sending one COVID positive patient along with 168 returnees to Tuensang from Kohima without awaiting for results of test samples and the subsequent request by the government to forgive and forget.

The decision at the meeting followed a government letter dated June 6, 2020 which stated that on receipt of the findings/recommendations of JIC, the cabinet would promptly deliberate the matter and initiate action in the shortest possible time.

The meeting was attended by office bearers of the ENPO, CKS, KU,  ENSF, KTC, YTC, USLP, ENWO and PPC.
