 KOHIMA, OCT 22 (NPN): 10 choirs have been selected to compete for the grand finale of Nagaland Choir Olympics under the aegis of Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) which will take place on October 23, 5 p.m at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, managed by Musicians’ Guild The choir teams are the respective districts winners held in the month of September. The choirs include Mon Chamber Choir, Dimapur Cantamus Choir, Longleng Orangkong Choir, Wokha Bridge of the Gap Chamber Choir, Mokokchung Ongmesang, Zunheboto ZTSBC Youth Choir, Peren Cantamus  Choir, Kohima Harmonic Voices, Tuensang Yimchunger Baptist Church Choir, Phek The Canticles.

For the grand finale, there will be two rounds of performances. In each round, choirs will present one song each. The best choir will receive a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh along with a trophy and certificate. The first and second runner up will get Rs.50,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively.

While on October 24, another audition will be held to select 20 members after the finale to select a choir group to represent Nagaland at the 11th World Choir Games to be held in Belgium from July 5 to 15, 2020.

Aroha Choir, Shillong director Pauline Warjri, will be the chief judge, the other two judges are Ajeen Longchari Sucha and Mhonroni Lotha, assistant professor for Margaret Shishak School of Music, Patkai Christain College (Autonomous).
