GSDP on waste management

Two-month Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) on waste management organised by ENVIS Hub, Nagaland hosted by Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) was inaugurated on December 2 at the Conference hall of NPCB.

A press release by the department stated that at the programme member secretary, Dr. Kenei Miachieo, encouraged the trainees that through waste management good revenue can be earned. 
A keynote address on the issues of different types of wastes was delivered by NPCB chairman, Rusovil John. The release stated that 13 trainees have enrolled for the two months training course. It said GSDP, an initiative under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, endeavours to develop green skilled workers having technical knowledge and commitment to sustainable development, which will help in the attainment of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), National Biodiversity Targets (NBTs), as well as Waste Management Rules (2016).
The present GSDP course on waste management will involve both theory and practical classes on municipal solid waste, bio-medical waste, plastic waste, e-waste and construction and demolition waste.
