Health & family welfare (H&FW) principal director Dr Kevichusa Medikhru has assured to release the pending salary of medical officers (MOs) appointed last year by the department within this month.

During an informal interaction with media persons here on Wednesday, Dr. Medikhru admitted to some lapses that led to the delay in releasing the salary of the 94 recruits for the past four months.

Health & Family Welfare principal director however said the issue was now under process and their salary would be released within April once the issue was sorted out.

Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the new recruits are undergoing immense hardships following non-release of their salary for the past four months.

With the second wave of COVID-19 now being witnessed in many States across the country, which also has the potential of overwhelming health care systems, some of these medical practitioners were even apprehensive of discharging their duties without being getting paid.
