H&FW state monitoring team visits Tuensang

State evaluation & monitoring/ supervision team of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) visited Tuensang district on May 21-23 and the team along with district officials under CMO Tuensang also visited various health units under Tuensang district.

A press release by district media officer Tuensang stated that the team was headed by Director (health), Dr Vizolie Suokhrie along with Mission Director (NHM) Dr.Kevichusa and other team members. 

During the visit, mission director, Dr. Kevichusa, asked the Ayush hospital staff to conduct outreach services at least twice a week in the neighbouring villages and to let people know that Ayush facility was available.

State Immunization Officer, Dr. Ritu Thur, said that Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) being a delivery point centre was to create more awareness with the community to increase more ANC and immunization. 

The team also had a meeting with the Urban ASHAs, Mahila Arogy Samiti (MAS) members and ward’s chairman and interacted with the MAS and ASHA of Old Medical ‘A’ and Old medical ‘B’ at UPHC. They also visited High school ‘A’, high school ‘B’, Officer’s ward and post office ward. 

In the meeting, they discussed the activities such as Urban Health Nutrition Day (UHND), outreach services, existing trained and untrained ASHA. 

The team also gave a seminar on aims and objective of NUHM and encouraged the ASHAs and MAS to participate actively in all programmes within their wards. The state monitoring team along with district health society conducted a review meeting at CMO conference hall Tuensang. During the district review meeting, all district programme officer gave a power point on status of programme implementation against target for last three years. 

Medical Superintendent (MS) district hospital also presented the performance of the hospital for last three years.
