H&TE ministerial team inspects DGC
Ministerial team with principal in-charge & HoDs of DGC.

Ministerial team of the department of Higher and Technical Education, Nagaland, as part of their visitation tour visited Dimapur Government College (DGC) on October 29, get first hand information about grievances and for assessment and assimilation on important aspects of the institution. 

The team was led by deputy director Higher Education, Medo along with minister’s PAs Talinukshi Imchen; Shikuto Aye; Lamsong, and personal OSD to minister, Akum O Tzudir.

A press release by DGC publicity and media cell, stated that the team held an interactive meeting with the vice principal (principal in-charge) Alemla Imsong and IQAC coordinator, Dr. Vitsosie Vuprü where the team was appraised of the urgent needs of the college keeping in mind of the 2nd cycle of NAAC in 2020. 

This was followed by an informal meeting with all HoDs which was to garner the grievances of each department. 

The team also held a meeting with the RUSA committee and took stock of the activities including floriculture, which was then followed by an inspection of the RUSA park.

Awareness week: Meanwhile, DGC observed week-long vigilance awareness week 2019 starting from October 28 under the theme “Integrity - A way of life.”

A press release from DGC publicity and media cell stated that, a short programme on October 28 started with a speech delivered by Dr. Moangkala Longchar, asst professor, where she highlighted the reasons behind the observance. She spoke on the six principles of integrity as stated by Dr. Henry Cloud, in his book “Integrity - The courage to meet the demands of reality”. She called upon the gathering to apply the principles of integrity not only to change the world but to change oneself. 

Alemla Imsong, acting-principal, DGC, administered the citizens pledge of integrity to the gathering consisting of DGC faculty, staff and students. A competition on slogan and poster writing on the theme was also held for the students of DGC.
