HCHSS conducts awareness on ‘free and fair election’

Holy Cross Higher Secondary School (HCHSS) Dimapur, conducted awareness programme under the theme “Free and Fair Election” on April 8, with police inspector, Kohima and former investigator, Central Bureau of Investigation, R. Philip Yanthan, as special guest. 

A press release from HCHSS Dimapur principal, Fr. Philip Magh stated that the special guest exhorted the gathering of students and teachers saying that “Free and Fair Election” constitute the basic foundation and prime features of a democracy. 

A country cannot be truly democratic until its citizens have the opportunity to choose their representatives through elections that are free and fair, he added. 

Principal, Fr. Philip thanked all the participants and reminded that the programme was intended to instil in everyone that “free & fair election” must become a reality in the country one day.

During the programme, special song was presented by Benjongsola, speech from student was delivered by Kedukho, and skit on election was presented by class 12 students.

Hundreds of inspiring placards on election were displayed by the students.
