Health Mela conducted at Yongkhao

To promote good health and emphasize on benefits of healthy living, a Health Mela was organized on April 25 at Yongkhao, under Tobu block.

A press release from media officer NHM Mon, Leeyan Chemshy stated that Chief Medical Officer Mon, Dr. Kechongol Sophie, in his speech said that roads make a crucial contribution to bring important social benefits. They are of vital importance in order to make a nation grow and develop, he added. He said that one of the core barriers between the health department and Yongkhao is the road condition.

The camp was assisted by eight doctors along with eight nurses, one lab technician, one opthalmic assistant, one store keeper and the District Programme Management Unit (DPMU) staff. 

A total of 556 patients turned up for the camp, which included 26 dental cases, 134 pedia, 197 general cases, 84 PMR, 40 ophthalmic cases, 22 IUCD insertions, 22 ANC, and 31 children were immunized. 

District Health Society Mon has extended its appreciation to doctors of Naga Hospital, Kohima led by the managing director and medical superintendent for contributing medicine samples and also thanked the students’ union and village leaders.
