Health team visit villages in Mokokchung

A Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team and a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) team, along with Dr. Tiasunep, District Vector Borne Officer (DVBO), under the chief medical officer, Mokokchung visited Saring, Tsurmen and Akumen villages on April 16 to screen children between the ages of 0 to 18.

A press release from the DPMU, chief medical office, stated that a total of 219 children from the school and AWCs were screened for the 4Ds - defect at birth, deficiencies, developmental delay and diseases.

The team detected one child with Down syndrome and a few cases of dental carries, respiratory infections, skin conditions like scabies, fungal infection and anaemia. 

These cases were referred to nearby health centres. A health talk discussed personal hygiene and the importance of immunisation.

The team of doctors included Dr. Limayanger, Dr. Arenkaba, Dr. Aienla and staff from different departments.
