HHS Satakha celebrates golden jubilee

 Highland High School (HHS) Satakha celebrated its golden jubilee on May 14 at its school premises with Minister Agriculture and Co-operation, G. Kaito Aye as special guest and advisor School Education, K. T Sukhalu at the guest of honour.

According to DIPR report, speaking at the programme, the guest of honour encouraged the teachers to have heart and educate the students with not only school curriculum and be committed in their teachings. He said that the management of the school had a vision for the people of Satakha and so they opened the school 50 years ago. He urged the teachers should uphold their vision in educating the students, so that the students will one day become the leaders of the state. 
The advisor further encouraged the students not to study for the sake of studying but with a purpose for their own future. Lauding the principal of the school, Dr. Hokishe Yeptho for establishing the school, he said that the school was established for the people of Satakha and not for his own benefit and that it is evident in the list of the alumnis which were read out where many prominent leaders and officers have been produced by the school. He added that if the community supports the school management, the school will grow to greater heights again.
Earlier the guest of honour unveiled the jubilee monolith. Speech on behalf of the alumni was said by principal TTC and president Serampore University India, Rev. Dr. Kavito Jimomi, where in his speech he thanked the management for providing him free education at the school till class 8.
The special guest also released the school souvenir. Mementos were presented to the luminaries.
