Home Guards & Civil Defence sports meet begins

Sports meet and Raising Day celebration of Nagaland Home Guards and Civil Defence got underway at Central Training Institute, Toluvi, Dimapur on November 29. Commandant General, Home Guards and Civil Defence, L.Bendang Lemtur, IPS declared the meet open in the presence of the Deputy Commandant General Medozhalie Pienvu and all the unit Commanders from different districts.  In his inaugural speech, Lemtur called upon all units to display professionalism and discipline during the weeklong professional and sports meet. 

Commandant, CTI, Dally Jamir delivered the welcome address and the programme was chaired by Akhu Kath, District Commandant, Dimapur. The oath taking was administered by Vikiho K.Sema, District Commandant, Kohima. The professional and sports meet-Cum-Raising Day Celebration is a weeklong celebration held every year from 29th November to 6th December. 

During the week long meet, personnel from 8 districts - Phek, Wokha, Dimapur, Kohima, Mon, Tuensang, Mokokchung and Zunheboto will participate in different categories of sports and professional items. The professional and sports meet will culminate on December 6.
