Horsepower Challenge, 1st NE Championship concludes

The 8th Horsepower Challenge (Nagaland) and the 1st North East Championship (final round) in memory of KK Paul Rutsa, organised by Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC), held at Phriebagei (medical college) P. Khel Kohima village concluded on Saturday. 

In the 1st North East Championship, Kamalesh Das emerged as the champion (MSAM) in SUV category while Aneesh Sangma (Tura) and Ruchir C Marak (MSAM) came in second and third respectively. In car category, Babit Lyngdoh (Street Kings), Atoka Awomi (P.Vizheto Club) and Ruokuobituo Kense (NAC) came in first, second and third respectively.  

The trophies for winners were sponsored by the family of Lt. KK Paul Rutsa. 

In the 8th Horsepower Challenge, Aneesh Sangma (Tura SC) won the SUV category (open) while Imtisanen (Spearhead) and Daniel Metha (Gear heads) bagged the first and second runners-up respectively. The champion of SUV category received Rs. 80,000, 2nd prize-Rs. 60,000 and 3rd prize-Rs. 50,000.

In cars open category, Ronan Bazeley (MASM) emerged as the winner, Bhakupar Whalang (EJAMSA) came in second and Kima Jamir (Spearhead) bagged the third place. In car open competition, the first, second and third received Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 70,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively.        

In cars rookie category, Neikuozo Keyho, Seyievilie Metha and Chathavizo Chase came in first, second and third and received  Rs.40,000, Rs.20,000 and Rs.15,000 respectively.

Banteilang Jyrwa (Meghalaya) won the bike open category and received Rs.50,000 while second placed Anthony Lyngdoh (Meghalaya) and third placed Naylin Chowhin (Black wood Motorsports, Meghalaya) received Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.

In bike novice category, Darren Damanbha Kharkongor (Meghalaya), Amu Suohu (Nagaland) and Anupam Dey (Assam)came in first, second and third and received Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.  

Altogether, 72 participants took part in four-wheeler category and 33 in two wheeler category.
