HYS organizes 6th open drawing competiion

Hindu Yuva Sanga (HYS) organized its 6th open drawing competition-cum-cultural programme on May 5 at St. Mary Higher Secondary School. 

The event was graced by surgeon and gynaecologist, Dr. Sunil Sharma as chief guest, assistant director, Directorate of School Education, Kohima, B. Nellayappan as special guest and educationist and renowned socio-political leader, Monoj Bhattacharjee as guest of honour.

A press release from HYS stated that the chief guest, Dr. Sunil Sharma encouraged the HYS and wished them success in their endeavours. 

The guest of honour, Monoj Bhattacharjee said that HYS has become the trendsetter of artistic platform where students get a chance to showcase their talent. He also said that HYS was also one among the oldest organizations in Dimapur which continues to promote art and culture.

Special guest, B. Nellayappan in his speech lauded HYS for its humanitarian services on education and social welfare. He also thanked and congratulated HYS for organizing the event. 

During the programme, a moment of silence was observed to pay tribute to the family of former president and founding member of HYS, late Tapash Paul.

Around 540 participants participated in the drawing competition. The judges for the drawing competition were Kamal Das, Manjit Mukherjee, Ashim Dutta, Rajive Dey and Debika Bhattacharjee. Various dances and songs were the other highlights of the programme. 

The programme was chaired by Sudipto Chakraborty while welcome address was delivered by president HYS, Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee.
