IAF’s Su-30 aircraft crashes near Tezpur

A  Su-30 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed at Milanpur area in Tezpur on Thursday evening, reports Northeast Now news. 

The crash took place around 8.30 pm when the aircraft was on a routine training mission, reports Northeast Now news.
Defence Public Relations Officer Wing Commander Ratnakar Singh said both the pilots on board the aircraft has, however, ejected safely from the aircraft. They have been rescued, he said.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain cause of the accident, Ratnakar Singh added.
 It may be recalled that an AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force with 13 air warriors on board crashed in a heavily forested mountainous area in Arunachal Pradesh on June 3 last.
The aircraft went missing on the afternoon of June 3 last , around 33 minutes after taking off from Jorhat in Assam for Menchuka in Arunachal Pradesh.
After eight days of a massive search operation, the wreckage of the plane was spotted by an IAF chopperat a height of 12,000 ft near Gatte village on the border of Siang and Shi-Yomi districts.
Bodies of all 13 IAF personnel on board the ill-fated  transport aircraft were retrieved on June 13.
