IDA Zbto and Wokha observe ‘World Oral Health Day’

 Indian Dental Association (IDA), Nagaland state branch, Zunheboto and Wokha units organised “Observance of World Oral Health Day” under the theme “Unite for Mouth Health” held on March 20 at Police Station, Zunheboto and Wokha town respectively. 

A press release from CMO office Zunheboto, district media officer, Shekho Sophie stated that in view of the current COVID 19 situation, a small health talk was given to few police personnel to mark the day.

Speaking on the occasion, dental surgeon, District Hospital, Zunheboto, Dr. Esther Ngullie spoke about facts about oral health. She emphasized that oral health was an integral part of general health and said healthy mouth means healthy body. 

Ngullie also spoke about the result of tooth decay and basic oral care and motivated the police personnel’s to visit dentist regularly so that they can help diagnose oral cancer at early stage. She also shared about the dental facilities available in the District Hospital, Zunheboto.

Dr. Tohito demonstrated about the use of mask. 

Free hand sanitizers, pamphlets, posters, gloves and mask were distributed to the personnel’s during the observance. Free pamphlets and mask was also distributed to the traffic police and general public.

The observation was led by Dr. Esther Ngullie, Dr. Tohito and Dr. Akaholi.

IDA Wokha: Indian Dental Association (IDA) Wokha branch organised awareness drive on oral health in Wokha town on March 20. Deputy Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr. Zuben Kikon along with dental doctors distributed leaflets on oral health at police point Wokha as part of world oral health day. District nodal officer, NTCP Wokha, Dr. Meribeni Odyuo sensitised the public on the importance of oral health as well as do’s and don’ts of COVID-19. The team also distributed leaflets on COVID-19, free face masks to elderly persons and free hand sanitizers to passersby.
