As part of its outreach program, the IDEAL (Initiative for Destitute to Empower and Liberate) Charitable Society held a fellowship service with elderly people of Longsa village under Wokha district on April 6.

Based in Kohima, IDEAL Charitable Society is a non profit organization and runs Bright Morning Star Children Home (BMSCH) in Kohima.
A press release from the society stated that the visit to Longsa village was led by its founder director Abi Angami and BMSCH superintendent Aleno. Alongwith some children of BMSCH and staff, the team prayed for good health and longevity of the elderly people.
They also distributed gifts to nearly 40 elderly people and received their blessings in return.
The visit was organized to spend time with the elderly persons, interact with them, listen to their stories, have fellowship with, and pray for, them.
The society also intended to show love and affection to elderly persons because some of them may be physically unable to take part in social events or not have someone who will sit and listen to their stories, and they subconsciously may feel alone.
Through this outreach program, the society hoped to enable the younger generation, especially BMSCH children, to understand the art of giving, and to love and respect the elderly.
The little amount collected during family fellowships of IDEAL Charitable Society goes to this outreach project.
The children sell home-made biscuits and its earnings are used for this village visit program where each year, two different villages are targeted.
