Industrial Estate Colony Youth Forum Dimapur (IECYFD) has issued directives to all vegetable and fruit vendors and other business establishments within its jurisdiction to sell food items that are fit for human consumption.

In a press release, IECYFD president, Bendang Pongener pointed out that the Industrial Estate Colony Tenali Market caters to thousands of people of more than 10 colonies and nearby suburbs in neighbouring Assam. Therefore, in order to ensure that quality food items are being sold, IECYFD has informed all vegetable and fruit vendors, bakeries and shops that strict action will be initiated if food items are found to be unhygienic and contaminated with chemicals.
In support of chief minister Neiphiu Rio’s call for a plastic-free Nagaland, the forum has also asked the people and business community of the area to stop using items made of non-biodegradable plastic.
While appreciating the DoH&FW for implementing food safety and standard measures in Nagaland, especially Dimapur, IECYFD has also extended its support to the department.
